The Hive

The HIVE is another artist-run studio (we love to see it), a fine art gallery and co-operative art space. They support local and international, emerging and established artists of all skill levels, as an effort to encourage inclusivity and creativity. Within the gallery, you’ll find an array of stunning works available for purchase, or if you’d like to stay awhile, why not grab a ticket to one of their workshops! Life drawing, anyone? There’s also a regular meetup and music night if you want to meet some like-minded folks.

Located in the Headworx Innovation Centre in Currumbin Waters, The HIVE Art Gallery features solo and group exhibitions, and it is the home of IGuarnier Itallan Fresco Master's Australian Fine Art Collection, it also operates as a professional art space, offering the opportunity for practicing artists to collaborate and showcase their wares And if you are feeling inspired by all the works you can sign up for art classes or unleash your child's inner Picasso at their children's workshops.

A huge thank you from The Hive Art Gallery to our local collector, John, from Helensvale. After much research, John selected 6 beautiful works by our Hive artist, Jules Middleton, as a special gift for his family. Two of these gorgeous fresco blocks (Flocks) will be 21 birthday gifts for his neice and nephew, while the others he intends to retain for other special occasions for his family members. It is John’s intension to bring the collection back together once a year, perhaps at Christmas, when they have a family gathering!

BYO art supplies. Meet at Thrower Drive Boat Ramp at 10am. We will be walking along the Berree-Badalla Boardwalk through the mangroves and out over the Currumbin Creek and estuary to collect ideas and paint for the Hive March exhibition, “A Celebration of Place”, Currumbin Estuary and/or the Doyles Art Award.
